Baseline testing is a way of tracking your brain functioning at a “pre-injury state.” Baseline neurocognitive testing measures how your brain functions when it’s not injured.
These tests measure reaction time, memory, and processing speed. They give healthcare providers an accurate picture of your normal, or healthy, brain function. Baseline test data can, then, be compared with post-injury data to determine the extent of your injury.
